Row 2: K to 1st marker, work Row 2 of Cable Pat to next marker, k to next marker, work Row 2 of Cable Pat to last marker, k to end. Work even in pat as established until piece measures 13(13 3/4-14 1/2)” from beg, end on WS.
Armhole Opening: * Next Row (RS): Work 35 sts, join another ball of yarn and work 53 sts. * Working on both sections at once using separate balls of yarn, work even until piece measures 20(21 1/4-22 1/2)”, end on WS.
Joining Row (RS): Work 35 sts with 1st ball of yarn, fasten off 2nd ball and work to end using 1st ball. Work even until piece measures 32(34 3/4-37 1/2)”, end on WS. Rep between *’s once more for 2nd armhole opening. Working on both sections at once, using separate balls of yarn, work even until piece measures 39(42 1/4-45 1/2)”, end on WS. With smaller needles, cast on 37 sts.
Row 1 (RS): K1, * p1, k1, rep from * across.
Row 2: P1, * k1, p1, rep from * across. Rep these 2 rows until piece measures 2 1/2” from beg, end on WS. Change to larger needles and work in Reverse St st, inc 1 st each side every 3 1/2(2 3/4-2)” 4(5-7) times – 45(47-51) sts. Work even until sleeve measures 17 1/2” from beg, end on WS. Bind off all sts.
Steam pieces with hot steam iron and a pressing cloth. Mark center of each armhole slit on lower edge. Sew sleeve seams. Sew bound-off edge of sleeve into armhole slit matching sleeve seam with marker.
