MATERIALS
BERROCO AIR (50 grs), 4 balls #3143 Oxide.
Straight knitting needles, sizes 8 and 10 OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE.
Crochet hook, size 6.00 mm (J).
1 Cable needle (cn).
1 Pair of fleece or felt slip-on shoes in adult size.
Matching sewing thread.

GAUGE
14 sts = 4”;  23 rows = 4” in St st on size 10 needles.
TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE.

CABLE PATTERN (worked over 16 sts)
Row 1 and all WS rows:  K2, p12, k2.
Row 2:  P2, k12, p2.
Row 4:  P2, sl 4 sts to cn and hold in BACK, k4, k4 from cn, k4, p2.
Row 6:  Rep Row 2.
Row 8:  P2, k4, sl 4 sts to cn and hold in FRONT, k4, k4 from cn, p2. Rep these 8 rows for Cable Pat.

LEGWARMER (Make 2)
With larger needles, cast on 14 sts.  With a second ball of yarn, cast on another 14 sts.  Work both sides at once with separate balls of yarn.
Row 1 (RS):  Knit.
Row 2:  Purl 1st side;  at beg of 2nd side, cast on 2 sts, p to end.
Row 3:  Knit 1st side;  at beg of 2nd side, cast on 2 sts, k to end – 16 sts each side.
Row 4:  Purl 1st side;  at beg of 2nd side, cast on 2 sts, purl to end.
Row 5:  K2, k2 tog, k to end of 1st side;  at beg of 2nd side, cast on 2 sts, k to last 4 sts, SSK, k2 – 17 sts each side.
Row 6:  Purl 1st side;  at beg of 2nd side, cast on 2 sts, purl to end.
Row 7:  Knit 1st side;  at beg of 2nd side, cast on 2 sts, knit to end – 19 sts each side.
Row 8:  Purl 1st side;  at beg of 2nd side, cast on 2 sts, purl to end.
Row 9:  K2, k2 tog, k to end of 1st side;  at beg of 2nd side, cast on 2 sts, k to last 4 sts, SSK, k2 – 20 sts each side.
Row 10:  Purl 1st side, cast on 16 sts, fasten off 2nd ball of yarn and purl remaining side with 1st ball – 56 sts.
Next Row (RS):  K20, place marker, k16, place marker, k20.
Establish Cable Pat:  Row 1 (WS):  P to 1st marker, work Row 1 of Cable Pat to next marker, p to end.
Row 2:  K to 1st marker, work Row 2 of Cable Pat to next marker, k to end.  Work even in pat as established for 3 rows, end on WS.
Dec Row (RS):  K to 4 sts before 1st marker, SSK, k2, work Cable Pat to next marker, k2, k2 tog, k to end – 54 sts.  Rep this dec every other RS row once more – 52 sts.  Discontinue Dec Row and work even in pat as established until piece measures 15” from beg, end on RS.  Change to smaller needles.
Dec Row (WS):  P18, drop marker, k2, (p3, p2 tog) twice, p2, k2, drop marker, p18 – 50 sts.  Work in ribbing as follows:
Row 1 (RS):  K2, * p2, k2, rep from * across.
Row 2:  P2, * k2, p2, rep from * across.  Rep these 2 rows until ribbing measures 6”, end on WS.  Bind off all sts loosely in ribbing.
