MATERIALS
4(5-5-6-6-7) Hanks BERROCO CAMPUS (100 grs), #2478 College Try (MC) and 1(1-2-2-2-2) Hanks #2458 All Nighter (CC)
Straight knitting needles, sizes 9 (5.50 mm) and 10½ (6.50 mm) OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE

GAUGE
12 sts = 4”;  16 rows = 4” in St st on larger needles
TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE

BACK

With smaller needles, using MC, cast on 66(74-82-90-98-106) sts.

Ribbing:  Row 1 (RS):  K2, * p2, k2, rep from * across.

Row 2:  P2, * k2, p2, rep from * across.  Rep these 2 rows until piece measures 2½” from beg, end on RS.  Change to larger needles and p the next row, dec 18(20-22-24-26-28) sts across – 48(54-60-66-72-78) sts.  Work even in St st until piece measures 4(4-4½-4½-5-5)”, end on WS.

Dec Row (RS):  K1, k2 tog, k to last 3 sts, SSK, k1 – 46(52-58-64-70-76) sts.  Rep this dec every 4” once more – 44(50-56-62-68-74) sts.  Work even until piece measures 10(10-10½-10½-11-11)” from beg, end on WS.

Inc Row (RS):  K1, M1k, k to last st, M1k, k1 – 46(52-58-64-70-76) sts.  Rep this inc every 3” once more – 48(54-60-66-72-78) sts.  Work even until piece measures 14(14-14½-14½-15-15)” from beg, end on WS.

Shape Armholes:  Bind off 3(3-3-3-4-5) sts at beg of the next 2 rows, then 2 sts at beg of the next 2 rows – 38(44-50-56-60-64) sts.  Dec 1 st each side every RS row 1(2-4-5-6-6) times – 36(40-42-46-48-52) sts.  Work even until armholes measure 7½(8-8½-8½-9-9½)”, end on WS.

Shape Shoulders:  Bind off 5(6-6-7-8-9) sts at beg of the next 2 rows, then 4(5-6-7-7-8) sts at beg of the next 2 rows.  Bind off remaining 18 sts for back neck.

LEFT FRONT

With smaller needles, using MC, cast on 26(30-34-38-42-46) sts.  Work in ribbing same as back for 2½”, end on RS.  Change to larger needles and p the next row, dec 6(8-8-10-10-12) sts across – 20(22-26-28-32-34) sts.  Work even in St st until piece measures 4(4-4½-4½-5-5)”, end on WS.

Dec Row (RS):  K1, k2 tog, k to end – 19(21-25-27-31-33) sts.  Rep this dec every 4” once more – 18(20-24-26-30-32) sts.  Work even until piece measures 10(10-10½-10½-11-11)” from beg, end on WS.

Inc Row (RS):  K1, M1k, k to end – 19(21-25-27-31-33) sts.  Rep this inc every 3” once more – 20(22-26-28-32-34) sts.  Work even until piece measures 14(14-14½-14½-15-15)” from beg, end on WS.

Shape Armhole and V-Neck:  Next Row (RS):  Bind off 3(3-3-3-4-5) sts at beg of the next RS row, k to last 3 sts, k2 tog, k1 (neck dec) – 16(18-22-24-27-28) sts.  Mark end of last row for beg of neck.  Purl 1 row.  Bind off 2 sts at armhole edge once more, then dec 1 st at armhole edge every RS row 1(2-4-5-6-6) times.  AT THE SAME TIME, continue to dec 1 st at neck edge every 1¾(2½-2-2¾-2¼-3)” 4(3-4-3-4-3) times more.  When all decs have been completed, work even on 9(11-12-14-15-17) sts until armhole measures 7½(8-8½-8½-9-9½)”, end on WS.  Bind off 5(6-6-7-8-9) sts at armhole edge once, then 4(5-6-7-7-8) sts once for shoulder.

RIGHT FRONT

Work to correspond to left front, reversing all shaping.  Work side decs at end of RS rows as SSK, k1.  Work side incs at end of RS rows as M1k, k1.  Bind off for armhole and shoulder on WS rows.  Work neck decs at beg of RS rows as k1, k2 tog.

SLEEVES

With smaller needles, using CC, cast on 46 sts.  Work in ribbing same as back for 2”, end on RS.  Change to larger needles and p the next row, dec 16 sts across – 30 sts.  Change to MC and knit 2 rows.  Work in St st, inc 1 st each side every 4¼(2½-2-1½-1¼-1)” 3(5-6-8-9-11) times – 36(40-42-46-48-52) sts.  Work even until sleeve measures 16” from beg, end on WS.

Shape Cap:  Bind off 3(3-3-3-4-5) sts at beg of the next 2 rows, then 2 sts at  beg of the next 2 rows – 26(30-32-36-36-38) sts.  Dec 1 st each side every 4th row 3(2-2-0-3-3) times, then every RS row 4(6-7-11-6-6) times, end on WS – 12(14-14-14-18-20) sts.  Bind off 2 sts at beg of the next 2 rows.  Bind off remaining 8(10-10-10-14-16) sts.

FINISHING

Left Frontband:  With RS facing, using smaller needles and CC, beg at neck marker, pick up and k58(58-58-62-62-62) sts along left front edge.  Knit 2 rows, end on RS.  Beg with Row 2, work in ribbing same as back until band measures 1½”, end on WS.  Bind off in ribbing.

Right Frontband:  Beg at lower right edge, work to correspond to left frontband.  Sew shoulder seams.

Neckband:  With RS facing, using smaller needles and CC, beg at right neck marker, pick up and k34(36-38-38-40-42) sts along right front neck edge, 22 sts across back neck edge, then 34(36-38-38-40-42) sts along left front neck edge to neck marker – 90(94-98-98-102-106) sts.  Complete same as frontbands.  Sew in sleeves.  Sew side and sleeve seams, reversing seams over cuffs.  Fold cuffs back to RS.
