The piece should fold in half along the center of the 2 half hexagons and hexagon 6 allowing hexagons 1 and 3 to wrap around the sides. This gives you a pocket which is closed on 3 sides. The lower edge formed by the points of hexagons 1, 2, 3 and 9 is left open for insertion of the chair seat. Felt in washing machine using hot water and soap. Check often. It may be necessary to run through the cycles more than once to achieve desired size. When seat cover reaches desired size, remove from washer, shape by hand and allow to air dry. Cut off points of hexagons on open edge of cover forming a straight edge. Slip cover over chair seat, tuck in ends and sew closed. |
