Rose is a pretty Softwist cravat knit in twisted ribbed stitch with a clever flower fastener.
One size
SIZE Approximately 5” wide x 34” longMATERIALS3 Hanks BERROCO SOFTWIST (50 grs), #9446 CompoteStraight knitting needles, size 8 OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE Tapestry needle GAUGE32 sts = 4”; 30 rows = 4” in Pat St on size 8 needles TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE SCARFWith straight needles, cast on 41 sts. Row 1 (RS): K1TBL, * p1, k1TBL, rep from * across. Row 2: P1, * k1TBL, p1, rep from * across. Rep these 2 rows until piece measures 34” from beg, end on WS. Bind off. FINISHINGFlower: With straight needles, cast on 15 sts. Rep Rows 1 and 2 same as scarf for 18”, end on WS. Bind off leaving a long end. Thread end into tapestry needle and weave in and out along one long side edge of piece. Pull to gather forming center of flower. Sew flower to scarf 11” in from one end, gathering scarf tog at this point. Loop: With straight needles, cast on 5 sts. Rep Rows 1 and 2 same as scarf for 6”, end on WS. Bind off. Sew one end to one underside of flower. Bring loop around and under scarf and sew the other end of loop to the other underside of flower.
