FINISHED MEASUREMENTS

MATERIALS

BERROCO MONET (50 grs), 7(8) balls #3368 Wild West (A).

BERROCO ZODIAC (50 grs), 12(13) balls #9607 Luna (B).

29” Length circular knitting needles, sizes 8 and 10 OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE.

 

GAUGE

16 sts = 4”;  21 rows = 4” in Pat st on size 10 needles.

TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE.

 

NOTE 1

Yarn may be carried loosely up side of work when not in use.  Make sure to wrap yarns at beg of RS rows to prevent long loops.

 

NOTE 2

To inc when working Row 5, 15 or 23, knit in the front and back of st wrapping yarn around needle twice.  To dec when working Row 5, 15 or 23, k2 tog, wrapping yarn around needle twice.

 

PATTERN STITCH

Rows 1-4 (RS):  With B, knit.

Row 5:  With B, knit, wrapping yarn around needle twice on each st.

Row 6:  With B, purl, dropping extra wraps.

Row 7:  With A, knit.

Row 8:  With A, purl.

Rows 9-14:  With B, knit.

Row 15:  Rep Row 5.

Row 16:  Rep Row 6.

Rows 17 and 18:  With A, knit.

Rows 19-22:  With B, knit.

Row 23:  Rep Row 5.

Row 24:  Rep Row 6.

Row 25:  With A, knit.

Row 26:  With A, purl.

Rep these 26 rows for Pat St.

 

BACK

With larger circular needle, using B, cast on 124(132) sts.  Work even in Pat St for 1”, end on WS.  Inc 1 st each side – 126(134) sts.  Rep this inc every 1” 6 times more – 138(146) sts.  Work even until piece measures 10” from beg, end on WS.

Shape Armholes:  Bind off 3 sts at beg of the next 2 rows – 132(140) sts.  Dec 1 st each side every RS row 3 times, then every other RS row twice – 122(130) sts.  Work even until piece measures 29(30)” from beg, end on WS.  Bind off all sts.

 

LEFT FRONT

With larger circular needle, using B, cast on 32(36) sts.  Work even in Pat St for 4 rows, end on WS.  Note:Please read through this entire section before starting to knit.

Shape Front:  Inc Row (RS):  Work to last st, inc 1 – 33(37) sts.  Rep this inc every other RS row twice more, then every RS row 34 times.  AT THE SAME TIME, when piece measures 1”, inc 1 st at side edge.  Rep this inc every 1” 6 times more.  When piece measures 10” from beg, shape armhole same as for back.  When armhole and front shaping have been completed, work even on 68(72) sts until piece measures 16 1/2(17 1/2)”, end on WS.

Shape Neck:  Dec Row (RS):  Work to last 2 sts, work 2 tog – 67(71) sts.  Rep this dec every RS row 30 times more – 37(41) sts.  Work even if necessary until piece measures same as for back, ending with same row as for back.  Bind off all sts for shoulder.

 

RIGHT FRONT

Work to correspond to left front reversing all shaping.  Shape side at end of RS rows and neck at beg of RS rows.  Bind off for armhole on WS row.

 

FINISHING

Steam pieces with hot steam iron and a pressing cloth.  Sew shoulder seams.

Right Front/Neckband:  With RS facing, using smaller circular needle and B, beg at lower right front, pick up and k191(195) sts evenly spaced along right front and neck edge to center back neck.

Row 1 (WS):  P1, * k1, p1, rep from * across.

Row 2:  K1, * p1, k1, rep from * across.  Rep Row 1 once more, then bind off all sts in ribbing.

Left Front/Neckband:  Beg at center back neck, work same as for right front/neckband.  Sew front/neckbands tog at center back neck.

Armbands:  With RS facing, using smaller circular needle and B, pick up and k161(169) sts around entire armhole edge.  Complete same as for front/neckbands.  Sew side seams.  Sew lower edges of back and fronts tog to outer edges of front/neckbands.
