BERROCO BLING BLING (50 grs), 5(6-6-7-7-8-9) balls #1544 Greige/Gold (MC).

BERROCO METALLIC FX (25 grs), 3(4-4-4-4-4-4) hanks #1003 Gold/Black (CC).

Straight knitting needles, sizes 6 and 8 OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE.

2 St holders.



17 sts = 4”;  24 rows = 4” in St st with MC on size 8 needles.

22 sts = 4”;  31 rows = 4” in St st with CC on size 8 needles.




With smaller straight needles, using MC, cast on 85(89-93-97-107-115-125) sts. 

Row 1 (RS) :  K1, * p1, k1, rep from * across.

Row 2:  P1, * k1, p1, rep from * across.  Rep the last 2 rows until piece measures 1” from beg, end on RS.  Change to larger straight needles and p the next row, dec 14(14-14-14-16-16-16) sts evenly spaced across – 71(75-79-83-91-99-109) sts.  Beg with a k row, work even in St st until piece measures 2” from beg, end on WS.

Dec Row (RS):  K1, k2tog, k to last 3 sts, SSK, k1 – 69(73-77-81-89-97-107) sts.  Rep this dec every 1 1/4” 4 times more – 61(65-69-73-81-89-99) sts.  Work even until piece measures 9” from beg, end on WS.

Inc Row (RS): K1, M1k, k to last st, M1k, k1 – 63(67-71-75-83-91-101)sts.   Rep this inc every 1” 4 times more – 71(75-79-83-91-99-109) sts.   Work even until piece measures 14 1/2” from beg, end on WS.

Shape Armholes:  Bind off 4(4-4-5-5-6-6) sts at the beg of the next 2 rows – 63(67-71-73-81-87-97) sts.

Dec Row(RS):  K3, k2 tog, k to last 6 sts, SSK, k3 – 61(65-69-71-79-85-95) sts.  Rep this dec every RS row 4(4-4-4-6-8-12) times more – 53(57-61-63-67-69-71) sts.  Work even until armholes measure 7(7-7 1/2-8-8-8 1/2-8 1/2)”, end on WS.

Shape Shoulders andNeck:  Next Row (RS):  Bind off 6(7-7-8-9-8-9) sts, k until there are 7(8-9-9-10-10-10) sts on RH needle, sl center 27(27-29-29-29-33-33) sts onto a holder for back neck, join another ball of MC and k to end.  Working on both sides at once, bind off 6(7-7-8-9-8-9) sts at beg of the next row,  then 6(7-8-8-9-9-9) sts at beg of the next 2 rows.  AT THE SAME TIME, dec 1 st at each neck edge once.



Work same as for back until armholes measure 5(5-5½-6-6-6 1/2-6 1/2)”, end WS – 53(57-61-63-67-69-71) sts.

Note:  Work decs at left side of neck as k2 tog, k2.  Work decs at right side of neck as k2, SSK.

Shape Neck:  Next Row (RS):  K17(19-20-21-23-22-23), sl center 19(19-21-21-21-25-25) sts onto holder for front neck, k to end.  Working both sides at once, dec 1 st at each neck edge as in Note every RS row 5 times – 12(14-15-16-18-17-18) sts each side.  Work even until armholes measure 7(7-7 1/2-8-8-8 1/2-8 1/2)”, end on WS.

Shape Shoulders:  Bind off 6(7-7-8-9-8-9) sts at each armhole edge once, then 6(7-8-8-9-9-9) sts once.



With larger straight needles, using CC, cast on 6 sts.

Row 1 (WS):  Sl 1 knitwise, pl, * k1, p1, rep from * across.

Row 2:  Sl 1 knitwise, M1k, p1, * k1, p1, rep from * across – 7 sts.

Row 3:  Sl 1 knitwise, p1, * k1, p1, rep from * to last st, with yarn in BACK of work, M1k, p1 – 8 sts.  Rep the last 2 rows 6 times more – 20 sts.  Piece should measure approximately 2” from beg.  Work even in ribbing as established, being sure to sl first st knitwise on every row until piece measures 26(26 1/2-27 1/2-28 1/2-28 1/2-29 1/4-29 1/2)”from beg, mark end of last row for center of back neck.  Continue to work even until piece measures 50(51-53-54 1/2-55-56 1/2-57)” from beg, end on WS.

Row 1 (RS):  S1 knitwise, k2 tog, work in ribbing as established to end – 19 sts.

Row 2:  Sl 1 knitwise, work in ribbing to last 3 sts, k2 tog, p1 – 18 sts.  Rep these 2 rows until 6 sts remain.  Piece should measure approximately 52(53-55-56 1/2-57-58 1/2-59)” from beg.  Bind off all sts in ribbing.



Steam pieces lightly with hot steam iron and a pressing cloth.  Sew right shoulder seam.  Neck Edging:  With RS facing, using larger straight needles and MC, starting at left front neck edge, pick up and k15 sts along left front neck edge, k19(19-21-21-21-25-25) sts from front holder, pick up and k15 sts along right front neck edge, pick up and k2 sts along right back neck edge, k27(27-29-29-29-33-33) sts from back holder, pick up and k 2 sts along left back neck edge – 80(80-84-84-84-92-92) sts.  On the next row, bind off all sts purlwise.  Sew left shoulder seam.

Armbands:  With RS facing, using smaller straight needles and MC, pick up and k 81(81-85-87-87-89-89) sts along entire armhole edge.  Beg with Row 2, work in ribbing same as for back for 1/2”, end on WS.  Bind off all sts in ribbing.  Sew side and armband seams.

Attach Scarf:  Matching marker on scarf to center of back neck, pin one long edge of scarf around neck edge, starting on left front 1 1/2” below shoulder seam and ending at beg of left front neck shaping.  Leave about 1”of left front neck edge unpinned and allow ends of scarf to hang free.  Sew pinned edge of scarf in place.
