SIZES
Directions are for women’s size X-Small.  Changes for sizes Small, Medium, Large and X-Large are in parentheses.

 

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Bust – 36(40-44-48-52)”.
Length – 21(21 1/2-22-22 1/2-23)”.
Note:  This garment is designed with a slightly oversized fit.  Please take this into consideration when selecting your size.

 

MATERIALS
BERROCO AIR (50 grs), 7(8-9-10-11) balls #3142 Geothermal.
Straight knitting needles, sizes 10 and 11 OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE.
16” Length circular knitting needles, sizes 10 and 11.
1 St marker.

 

GAUGE
13 sts = 4”;  19 rows = 4” in St st on size 11 needles.
TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE.

 

BACK
With smaller straight needles, cast on 58(66-70-78-82) sts.
Row 1 (RS):  K2, * p2, k2, rep from * across.
Row 2:  P2, * k2, p2, rep from * across.  Rep these 2 rows until piece measures 2 1/2” from beg, end on RS.  P the next row, inc 2(0-2-2-4) sts evenly spaced across – 60(66-72-80-86) sts.  Change to larger straight needles and work even in St st until piece measures 14” from beg, end on WS.
Shape Armholes:  Bind off 6 sts at beg of the next 2 rows – 48(54-60-68-74) sts.  Work even until armholes measure 7(7 1/2-8-8 1/2-9)”, end on WS.  Bind off all sts for shoulders and back neck.

 

FRONT
Work same as for back until armholes measure 4(4 1/2-5-5 1/2-6)”, end on WS – 48(54-60-68-74) sts.
Shape Neck:  Next Row (RS):  K17(20-23-26-29), join another ball of yarn and bind off center 14(14-14-16-16) sts, k to end.  Working both sides at once, dec 1 st at each neck edge every RS row 5 times.  Work even on 12(15-18-21-24) sts each side until armholes measure 7(7 1/2-8-8 1/2-9)”, end on WS.  Bind off all sts each side for shoulders.

 

SLEEVES
With smaller straight needles, cast on 30 sts.  Work in ribbing same as for back for 2 1/2”, end on RS.  P the next row, inc 2 sts evenly spaced across – 32 sts.  Change to larger straight needles and work even in St st until sleeve measures 4 1/2(4 1/4-3 1/2-3 3/4-4 1/2)”, end on WS.
Inc Row (RS):  K1, M1k, k to last st, M1k, k1 – 34 sts.  Rep this inc every 2(1 3/4-1 1/2-1 1/4-1)” 6(7-9-10-12) times more – 46(48-52-54-58) sts.  Work even until sleeve measures 17 1/2” from beg, end on WS.  Mark beg and end of last row for beg of sleeve cap.  Work even until sleeve measures 1 3/4” above markers, end on WS.  Bind off all sts.

 

FINISHING
Steam pieces with hot steam iron and a pressing cloth.  Sew shoulder seams.

Turtleneck:  With RS facing, using smaller circular needle, beg at center back neck pick up and k12(12-12-13-13) sts to left shoulder seam, 15 sts along left front neck edge, 14(14-14-16-16) sts across front neck edge, 15 sts along right front neck edge, then 12(12-12-13-13) sts across remaining back neck edge – 68(68-68-72-72) sts.  Mark for beg of rnd and carry marker up.  Work even in k2, p2 ribbing for 2 1/2”.  Change to larger circular needle and work even in k2, p2 ribbing until turtleneck measures 5 1/2” from beg.  Bind off all sts loosely in ribbing.  Sew bound-off sts of sleeves to straight edges of armholes.  Sew side edges of sleeves above markers to bound-off sts of armholes.  Sew side and sleeve seams.
