Directions are for women’s size 6. Changes for sizes (8), (10), (12), (14), (16), (18) and (20) are in parentheses.

Hip - 36(38-40-42-44-46-48-50)”.
Waist - 26(28-30-32-34-36-38-40)”.
Length - 22-1/2”.

BERROCO SENSUWOOL® (50 grs), 8(8-9-9-10-10-11-11) balls #6532 Auburn.
Straight knitting needles, sizes 6 and 8 OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE.
1 7" skirt zipper.
4 st markers.

5 sts = 1"; 7 rows = 1" in St st with larger needles.

If a longer version is desired, work even for 25" before Shape Hips. This will give a finished length of 34-1/2” and will use 12(12-13-13-14-14-15-15) balls of SENSUWOOL.

If a pull-on version is desired, you will need a 24" length circular knitting needle, size 6 and 1-1/2” wide elastic cut to fit comfortably around your waist plus 1". You will not need a zipper. Work same as for Back and Front to Finishing.

With smaller needles, cast on 91(95-101-105-111-115-121-125) sts.
Row 1 (RS): K 1, * p 1, k 1, rep from * across.
Row 2: P 1, * k 1, p 1, rep from * across. Rep these 2 rows once more, then rep Row 1 once more. Change to larger needles. Beg with a p row, work even in St st until piece measures 13" from beg, end on WS.
Shape Hips: Dec 1 st each side on next row, then every 18th row twice more. AT THE SAME TIME, when piece measures 15" from beg, and 89(93-99-102-109-113-119-123) sts remain, end on WS.
Mark for Darts:
K 22(23-24-25-27-28-29-30), * place marker, k 1, place marker, * k 43(45-49-51-53-55-59-61), rep between *’s once more, k to end. P 1 row.
Dec Row: K to 2 sts before first marker, SKP, k 1, k 2 tog, k to 2 sts before last marker, SKP, k 1, k 2 tog, k to end. Continuing to dec at side edges as before, rep this dec row every 10th row 3 times more, then every 12th row once more, end on WS - 65(69-75-79-85-89-95-99) sts. Bind off all sts.

Work same as for back.

FINISHING (for zipper version)
Steam pieces. Sew right side seam.
Waistband: With RS facing, using smaller needles and working through back lps of bound-off sts, pick up and k 129(137-149-157-169-179-189-197) sts across entire waistline. Beg with a p row, work even in St st for 1-1/2”, end on WS. P 2 rows. Work even in St st until waistband measures 1-1/2” above p ridge, end on WS. Bind off all sts.
Sew left side seam from lower edge to 7" below p ridge of waistband. Sew in zipper, folding zipper tape down so that top of zipper comes to p ridge. Fold waistband to inside along p ridge and sl st in place, tacking side edges to zipper tape.

FINISHING (for pull-on version)
Steam pieces. Sew BOTH sideseams. With RS facing, using circular needle, beg at left sideseam, pick up and k 128(136-148-156-168-178-188-196) sts. Mark for beg of round and carry marker up. Work even in St st (k EVERY round) for 1-1/2”. P 1 round. Work even in St st for 1-1/2” more. Bind off all sts. Fold waistband to inside along p ridge and sl st in place, leaving a 2" opening. Thread elastic through waistband with large safety pin. Overlap ends and sew firmly tog. Close waistband opening.
