FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Bust - 40(44-48-52)”.
Length - 24(24-1/2-25-25-1/2)”.

MATERIALS
BERROCO SENSUWOOL® (50 grs), 15(16-16-17) balls #6538 Dark Gray.
Straight knitting needles, size 8 OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE.
16" length circular knitting needle, size 6.
Crochet hook, size 3.00 mm (D).
1 1-1/2” Abalone button from Streamline.
1 -1/2” metal snap.

GAUGE
29 sts = 4"; 7 rows = 1" in k 2, p 2 Rib Pat.
TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE.

NOTE 1
Incs at beg and end of row forming diagonal bands should be made by working into back and front of first or last st, and then worked as either a k or p, working inc into k 2, p 2 rib pat.

NOTE 2
When measuring length of back and fronts, measure in center panel, not diagonal side panels.

NOTE 3
These directions have been written with optional sleeves. To make sleeves, add 6 balls of SensuWool to amount listed under materials for your size.

BACK
With straight needles, cast on 146(162-178-194) sts.
Row 1 (RS): Inc 1 in first st, k 1, p 2, (k 2, p 2) 7(9-11-13) times, SSK, place marker, p 2, (k 2, p 2) 19 times, place marker, k 2 tog, (p 2, k 2) 7(9-11-13) times, p 2, k 1, inc 1 in last st.
Row 2: K the k sts and p the p sts as they face you.
Row 3: Inc 1 st in first st, work in ribbing as established to 2 sts before first marker, SSK, work in ribbing as established to last marker, k 2 tog, work in ribbing as established to last st, inc 1 st in last st.
Row 4: Rep Row 2. Rep Rows 3 and 4 until piece measures 16" from beg, end on WS.
Shape Armholes: Bind off 16(20-24-28) sts at beg of the next 2 rows. Work even in pat as established on 114(122-130-138) sts until armholes measure 6-1/2(7-7-1/2-8)”, end on WS. Discontinue working Rows 3 and 4 and work even in ribbing as established from this point to shoulders.
Shape Neck: Work 41(45-49-53) sts, join another ball of yarn and bind off center 32 sts for neck, work to end. Working both sides at once, bind off 10 sts at each neck edge once, bind off 4 sts once, then bind off 3 sts once. Work even in ribbing as established on 24(28-32-36)) sts each side until armholes measure 8(8-1/2-9-9-1/2)”, end on WS. Bind off all sts for shoulders.

LEFT FRONT
With straight needles, cast on 114(122-130-138) sts.
Row 1 (RS): Inc 1 st in first st, k 1, p 2, (k 2, p 2) 7(9-11-13) times, SSK, place marker, p 2, (k 2, p 2) 11 times, place marker, k 2 tog, (p 2, k 2) 7 times, p 2, k 1, inc 1 st in last st.
Row 2: K the k sts and p the p sts as they face you. Work in same manner as for back until piece measures 15-1/2” from beg, end on WS with p 2 at neck edge.
Shape Neck: Work in pat as established to second marker, k 2 tog, work 14 sts, k 2 tog, place third marker, (p 2, k 2) 4 times, discontinue incs at front edge.
Next Row: K the k sts and p the p sts as they face you. Working in pat as established, continue to dec 1 st after second marker and before third marker every RS row 7 times more. AT THE SAME TIME, when piece measures 16" from beg, shape armhole same as for back. When 2 sts remain between second and third markers, drop second marker.
Dec Row (RS): Work in pat as established to 2 sts before last marker, k 2 tog, (p 2, k 2) 4 times.
Dec Row (WS): (P 2, k 2) 4 times, p 2 tog, work in pat as established to end. Rep these 2 dec rows 20 times more. AT THE SAME TIME, when armhole measures 6-1/2(7-7-1/2-8)”, discontinue working incs and decs on sts before first marker and work these sts even in ribbing as established to shoulder. When all decs have been completed, work even, if necessary, on 40(44-48-52) sts until armhole measures 8(8-1/2-9-9-1/2)”, end on WS. Bind off 24(28(32-36) sts for shoulder, dropping markers. Continue to work in ribbing as established on 16 sts for 4-1/2”, end on WS. Bind off in ribbing.

RIGHT FRONT
With straight needles, cast on 114(122-130-138) sts.
Row 1 (RS): Inc 1 st in first st, k 1, p 2, (k 2, p 2) 7 times, SSK, place marker, p 2, (k 2, p 2) 11 times, place marker, k 2 tog, (p 2, k 2) 7(9-11-13) times, p 2, k 1, inc 1 st in last st. Complete to correspond to left front, reversing all shaping and working neck decs as SSK on RS rows and p 2 tog TBL on WS rows.

SLEEVES (Optional)
With straight needles, cast on 50(50-54-
58) sts.
Row 1 (RS): K 2, * p 2, k 2, rep from
* across.
Row 2: P 2, * k 2, p 2, rep from * across. Work in ribbing as established, inc 1 st each side every other row 6(12-18-22) times, then every 4th row 27(24-20-17) times. Work even on 116(122-130-136) sts until sleeve measures 17-3/4(17-1/4-16-1/2-16)" from beg, end on WS. Mark beg and end of last row. Work even until sleeve measures 20" from beg, end on WS. Bind off all sts.

FINISHING
Steam pieces lightly. Sew shoulder seams. Weave bound-off edges of neckband tog. Sew inner edge of bands to back neck edge, centering seam. Sew in sleeves, sewing last 2-1/4(2-3/4-3-1/2-4)" of sleeve edges above markers to bound-off underarm sts. (Optional). Sew side and sleeve seams.
Armhole Edging (For sleeveless version): With RS facing, using circular needle, beg at sideseam, pick up and k 104(110-116-122) sts around entire armhole and underarm edge. Mark for beg of round. K 1 round. Bind off all sts.
Buttonloop: With crochet hook, join yarn to right front edge 1/2” below beg of neck shaping. Ch 12, skip a space 1" long, join with a sl st to right front edge.
Fasten off.
Sew on button. Sew 1/2 of snap to left frontband on RS of work opposite button. Sew second 1/2 of snap to right frontband on WS of work so that fronts lie flat when snap and button are fastened.
